Water & Stone – exhibition

Sally Darlison creates textile artworks using hand-dyed reclaimed silk, hand embroidery, and free-motion machine stitching. Her work explores the relationship between people and place, with a particular interest in the impact humans have on the natural environment. Drawn to landscapes that remain relatively untouched, she finds continual inspiration in the beauty, order, and resilience of the natural world.
Water and Stone is a collection of works inspired by this fascination. Through these pieces, Darlison invites viewers to reflect on the powerful interaction between two elemental forces and the ways they continually shape and transform our environment.
Over time, water has carved stone to create rivers, gorges, bays, and glacier-formed landscapes of remarkable beauty and scale. These works celebrate the enduring relationship between water and stone and the awe-inspiring landscapes that emerge from their interaction.
Opening night 23 October 6 – 8pm
