NAARM TEXTILE COLLECTIVE

Our latest exhibition Uncommon Threads held at 45 Downstairs, a location that has a rich history for textile production, design and innovation with the exhibition updating the Flinders Lane story with the inclusion of Contemporary Textile Art.  

A big thank you to all the artists and those who contributed to the exhibition fundraising campaign with Australian Cultural Fund.

Uncommon Threads was supported by the City of Melbourne Arts Grants Program and was presented as part of Craft Contemporary 2023, an initiative of Craft/@craftvictoria

Naarm Textile Collective is an artist led organisation aiming to incorporate and challenge the boundaries of textile arts practice.  Together, promoting and supporting artists using textiles in their artworks and encouraging the exploration of unique pathways to creation and individuality through their work. The collective believe that by communicating and sharing their passion for textiles, they will highlight the versatility of the medium and promote interest in art created using a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques.

The Naarm Textile Collective Facebook group is a place to share information about your arts practice, exhibitions and other events. Feel free to share your ideas, way of making art, challenges, equipment you have for sale or swap, local studios and other textile related stuff.
