Material Matters

Material Matters explores the diverse and expressive potential of 21 artists working with the textile medium, as a powerful tool for contemporary artistic practice. Moving beyond traditional associations with craft and domesticity, these materials become vehicles for storytelling, emotion, and conceptual exploration. Each artist draws on personal memories, thoughts, and experiences, embedding meaning into every fiber, and gesture.

Ultimately, Material Matters asks what defines art? Is it the medium, the intention, or the context in which it is presented? The exhibition offers new interpretations and deeper appreciation of traditionally overlooked materials and techniques.
