Mini improv quilt making workshop with Kaz Argus

Spring Teen School Holiday Program 2026
Activities are open to young people aged 12 up to 17 years old with a connection to Glen Eira.

In this hands-on workshop, participants create a small improvisational quilt using hand stitching. Choose to appliqué an intuitive fabric design or piece together three fabrics in a simple patchwork, focusing on slow making, experimentation, and material play.
All materials provided, so come along and get creative using reclaimed materials to create your individual work of art.
Who is teaching: Kaz Argus is a visual artist working with textiles, sculpture, and assemblage. Her art explores how materials can hold feelings, drawing on themes of the body, vulnerability and care. She often works with reclaimed clothing and textiles, giving discarded materials new life while considering the stories, memories and histories they carry. Her practice is driven by making, experimentation, and a passion for keeping materials out of landfill. Â You can see her work on Instagram – @karrynargus
